About Us

About Us

The Tilak Bharati Schools were born out of the ideology that children must be given an environment that makes them want to come to school every day. The schools, which were founded in 1980 by Mrs. Rajkumari & YSN Patro follow thier personal principle of promoting individuality through value-based education which promotes a global outlook yet retains intrinsic Indian cultural traditions. Their guidance has also led TBS to lay a great emphasis on inclusiveness.

Our Belief

We believe that education is not only a tool to achieve professional milestones, but also a means to make lives better. This belief is practised by every member of Tilak Bharati Schools. We consider every student to be unique and strive to offer a platform that lets them discover their own special light, at their own pace.

Our Campuses

Currently TBS is spread overt two campuses. The first one to begin operations was the Hr. Sec School in Tilak Nagar, Gudhiyari, Raipur in 1980. Later, in 2017, the 2nd branch was established in Gondwara – Raipur.

All our campuses are child friendly centres that encourage students to enjoy learning and explore their own uniqueness. This helps them to not only to identify their own strengths but also apply their knowledge to interpret the world on their own terms.

Core Values

Our values are at the heart of our teaching practices and define the standards of ethical conduct we foster in our children. Each individual at TBS internalises these values:

Sensitivity

I am a sensitive individual who values and accepts differences, respects nature and the environment and upholds the rights of all individuals.

Integrity

I have the highest standards of integrity, consistently displaying trustworthiness and courage in all that I undertake and fairness in all my interactions. I place high value on time and hard work.

Pride in One's Heritage

I am knowledgeable about the cultural heritage of my country, appreciative and demonstrative of its finest traditions while continuing to be progressive and forward thinking in my outlook with a strong sense of social responsibility.

Pursuit of Excellence

I am part of a teaching – learning process which is creative, innovative and collaborative and which strives to create and promote excellence in everything I do.

TBS Educators

A TBS Educator is a facilitator. A facilitator who draws forth the potential that already exists in a child, waiting to be recognised and polished; who teaches children to ‘think’, to stimulate young minds into higher order thinking skills; and who is trained to enable children to learn to value strategic, ethical and moral reasoning, perseverance and creativity.

S/he is knowledgeable, articulate and courteous, proficient in the discipline he or she is teaching and always ready to learn and become better – to hone academic and emotional intelligence as well as stay abreast of worldwide trends in education.

He or she internalizes the core values of the school and reinforces them in class, while teaching as well as in other interactions with children, to whom the Educator reaches out academically and individually.

S/he is open to pushing boundaries of comfort in order to learn and welcomes healthy, honest feedback as an opportunity to smooth wrinkles. The TBS Educator would like to be perfect, but is human enough to know perfection is not always possible and is more than willing to learn from mistakes to become a better facilitator.

Parent Teacher Association

In keeping with its mission statement and philosophy, TBS work in close partnership with the parent community. There is an active Parent Teacher Association and open interaction between the Association and the school.

The PTA has an Executive Committee, and communication is general as well as specific to each form in all the campuses. Each class and form has a parent representative in the PTA.

The school works with parents on discussing and improving academic and co-curricular activities and planning events.

Affiliations

TBS practises inclusive education for all their children, and this sensitivity is inculcated in its entire faculty as well as its training programme for nursery teachers and Early Education Programme. The programme consists of an Adapted/Functional Curriculum (10 – 15 years) that focuses on enhancing the life skills (functional literacy, numeracy, community skills and self development) of children.
